Sustainability, for us, isn’t a tick-box or a trend. It’s a way of working that has evolved slowly and intentionally — shaped by curiosity, creativity and a deep respect for the natural world that inspires everything we do.
When we design wedding flowers, we’re always asking ourselves the same question: how can we create something beautiful, meaningful and generous — without taking more than we need?
Letting Go of Floral Foam
One of the most important steps on our journey has been choosing eco-friendly methods and materials over the use of floral foam. While foam has long been considered a staple in floristry, it’s single-use and plastic-based — something that never quite sat comfortably with us.
Instead, we work with water-filled vessels and tubes, reusable chicken wire and moss, agra wool and traditional pin holders. These methods are slower and more considered, but they allow flowers to sit naturally, supported rather than forced. There’s a quiet beauty in that — a sense that the flowers are exactly where they want to be.
Designing With Nature, Not Against It
Working without foam has completely changed the way we design. Rather than bending stems into submission, we’ve learned to listen to them — to follow their natural curves, bends and lines. This approach brings movement and softness to our work, creating designs that feel light, whimsical and alive.
We genuinely love the challenge that eco-friendly floristry brings. Finding ways to create impactful, generous installations using sustainable methods pushes us creatively — and often leads to our most exciting work. One of the largest weddings we’ve ever delivered included a 12ft floral archway outside an ancient church and a sweeping staircase adorned with greenery and flowers — all created without a single piece of floral foam. Proof that sustainability and scale can live beautifully side by side.
Guided by the Seasons
Seasonality sits at the heart of our work. Over the years, we’ve built close relationships with local flower farms, choosing locally grown English flowers wherever possible. There’s something incredibly special about working with blooms that have grown just a few miles away — shaped by the same weather, light and landscape as the celebration itself.
Some of our most creative and soulful designs have come from starting with a colour palette and our natural, garden-led style, then allowing the flower choices to unfold organically at the time of ordering. Rather than insisting on specific varieties, we let the season guide us — and in doing so, creativity has room to bloom. Each arrangement becomes a true reflection of that moment in time.
Rethinking What Luxury Means
To us, luxury is not about excess. It’s about intention. It’s about crafting designs that feel deeply personal, emotionally resonant and quietly beautiful. It’s choosing a florist who sees every stem — even the most humble — as part of a larger story.
We don’t claim to be perfect when it comes to sustainability. There’s always more to learn, more to question, more to improve. What we do promise is curiosity — a genuine desire to evolve, to explore new methods and to make small, thoughtful changes that collectively make a difference.
For our couples, this often brings a sense of reassurance and joy. Knowing that their flowers not only looked beautiful on the day, but were created with care for the planet too — that feels like a lovely place to begin married life.
Sustainable wedding floristry, at its heart, is about balance. Between beauty and responsibility. Between artistry and awareness. And when those elements come together, the result is something truly meaningful — flowers that don’t just decorate a day, but honour the world they came from.
